United Within – Introduction

Updated March 14, 2024

“With hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.” (Hebrews 6:19)

The Bible stories of persons who overcame are a source of inspiration. We long to find courage to stand for the right when facing opposition. We desire to trust and obey God, and to live a life of faith.

The external opposition is at times much easier to identify, but what about the internal conflicts and internal opposition? Paul spoke about the battle he experienced within himself (Romans 7:23-24). When Paul wrestled with his inner man, at that point he was not united within himself. There are internal battles that we face.

To overcome, we need to let the light from God’s Word be at the forefront of our minds and inform our thinking, before we take action.  So that God’s Word would be established in our hearts and our minds, to nullify the effects of negative sentiments.

Never should we underestimate the magnitude of the challenges. Instead, recognizing our helplessness will cause us to run to God for His help. We would depend on God to remove anything in us that opposes His will. So in complete surrender we let God work within us.

Join me in the chapters ahead to explore the characteristics that can cause inner conflict and to discover how we can let God’s light inform, enlighten and transform us.  In Christ we will stand as internally united individuals, grounded in His word, to successfully face the challenging situations that confront us.

Question:

What areas of your life do you need to give over to God, so that you can be more anchored in Him, and that He can guide you in your decision making?

The next blog post in this series is entitled ‘What Do You See?

Be Blessed.
