Learning, Growing, Thriving

When I started on my gardening journey, I recognized that there was a lot I needed to learn. Some of my plants thrived and some did not. There is still so much about gardening that I don’t understand, but I try to apply what I already know while I continue to learn more.

In early May of this year, I was delighted to see blossoms on my Surinam cherry tree and by early June I was able to pick ripe fruit. This was not the first year that I was able to pick fruit from the tree. I planted the Surinam cherry tree (sapling) around early 2022.

The two images below show the blossoms on my Surinam cherry tree in May of this year and then the green to mature fruit in early June of this year.

It is relaxing to see evidence of the growth of plants, and it is always rewarding to be able to enjoy the fruit. I am able to apply the garden lessons to different aspects of my life, including my professional and business life:

· Planting a seed, a seedling or a young fruit tree, in many ways represents the goals that we have.

· After planting, there is a need to nurture the plant, so similarly there is a need to take the necessary steps towards achieving our goals.

· Growth takes time, and in a similar way that I need to be aware of the seasons and the requirements to produce healthy plants, I need to be aware of the different stages for a successful life and business.

· There is a need for follow-through and commitment to do what is required to achieve the required results.

· Things will not always go as we hope or planned, but even in the midst of setbacks, we can still faithfully continue to do what we can, and make the needed adjustments as necessary.

· I have learned to enjoy the growth process and appreciate seeing the evidence of the efforts made.

The cycle of growth continues, and we have the privilege of planting good seed for God’s glory wherever we go.

Be Blessed.
